Please give us a short summary of your website?

I offer soaps, body scrubs, facial clay masks, bath salts, milk baths, foot scrubs, foot soaks and bath teas. my labels are not fancy but they are nice. I offer spa quality products at affordable prices. Check us out!!!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
My family and friends. They were my testers of my products. I would give them out as gifts. It was suggested that i try selling my products and a website would be the thing to do since i can be seen my millions.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. It was launched in 2004.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I love nature. I love mother earth and all she has to offer us. She is sacred. I have a native american background on both sides of the family. Earth Spirits was the perfect name.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Well....my products are different due to the ingredients i use and the blends i've created to make your skin smooth, revitalize and with my products it's like having a spa treatment at home. I have sensitive skin like alot of people out there and i can't use most of the products out there so i created my own. I'm sure other companies have their own special blends. my products are paraben free.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To be successful where i can do this full time and not have to work another job. This is my passion! To have my products in spas, specialty shops, peoples homes, and hopefully have some famous celebs using my products.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Pretty good so far.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would open up my own shop.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, but i would probably have to hire some people far as packing and taking orders. the making of the products, i will do.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Creating a new product and it doesn't live up to my standards. I have to keep working with it until i get it right and it can get costly.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Creating my labels. my labels are not fancy, but they are nice. People think you have to have real flashy packageing to sell something. No you don't. I agree they should be eye catching, but you can make them eye catching without all the flash.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth, go into businesses and hand out cards and samples.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I thought at first that it would take off right away. wishful thinking. It takes time to get it going.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
4 years and i will keep it running indefinately. i want this to be a successful business. This is what i love to do, Creating things and sharing my passion with others.
